Didier Drogba Talks Up Community Shield Game Against Manchester United

The prolific goal scorer has highlighted his partnership with Nicolas Anelka, hoping that it will result in many goals this season.

Didier Drogba talked up the FA Community Shield game against Manchester United by focusing on his partnership with Nicolas Anelka, and said that he hoped that it would result in a lot of cheer this season.

Previous bosses of the Blues have used Drogba as a lone striker on many occasions, but the Ivorian - who has scored every time he has played at Wembley since the FA Cup final in 2007 - is keen to keep up his strike force partnership with Anelka tomorrow.

“It’s different with two up there as you share the dirty work," Drogba quipped, as quoted on The Daily Star.

The former Marseille hit-man then spoke of his 2006-07 season, which was the last time he partnered a striker for a whole season. He ended up scoring 33 goals and being crowned the African Footballer of the Year.

"Hopefully it will be the same again and we score a lot of goals together, helping us win everything we want to," he said.

Chelsea will take on the Red Devils in Wembley in an effort to win the Community Shield.
