Rooney comes within a whisker of sending Nani clean through but again Chelsea just manage to get a block in. The action then flies straight down the other end with Malouda crossing for Drogba. The ball is cleared for a corner which Foster gratefully claims.

Great save by Cech! From the corner the ball is played short to Fletcher who sends in a brilliant curling effort which looks destined for the top corner before Cech tips it over!

Another cross is fired into the United box, this time by Ivanovic, but it falls straight to Foster. United then break at pace and John Terry is forced to concede a corner.

A cross from Malouda has to be headed clear by Evans as Chelsea look to end the half strongly. Anelka then shoots from just inside the box and the ball looks to be creeping in at the far post, but it just curls wide!

Good shot by Anelka! Again the threat comes down the left. Anelka cuts inside and fires in a fierce drive which Rio Ferdinand is forced to head just over the bar.

Great run by Nani! TThe winger picks up possession just over the half-way line and races goalwards but he's just overdone it and by the time he comes to shoot the angle is too tight and he can't beat Cech.

More tentative stuff by Foster! Another back pass almost lands him in trouble again but somehow he escapes! Not convincing at all though by the young Englishman.

Foster almost plays himself into trouble! The United keeper dawdles over a back pass and invites a challenge from Drogba but somehow he escapes! Lucky boy.

Good stuff by Chelsea! Ashley Cole does well down the left and sends in a cross which Michael Essien races onto,. He outjumps Evra, but can 't keep his header down and it sails harmlessly over the bar.

Chelsea win a free kick in a very tasty position. It's fairly central and Lampard is standing over it but he thumps it ... straight into the wall! The ball comes back, however, and finds Malouda unmarked at the back stick but he thrashes it wide! What a chance!

Another chance for United. A long ball finds Park in the box but Ricardo Carvalho does well to steal the ball off him and clear for a corner.

Awkward cross in from the right by Chelsea almost causes a problem for United. Frank Lampard looks to be on the end of it but Darren Fletcher has tracked his run and is on hand to hoof the ball clear.

Almost mid-way through the first half at Wembley and United are good value for their lead so far. There may be no Cristiano Ronaldo, but so far he hasn't been missed.

End to end stuff at Wembley! First of all Drogba shots at Foster before United break again and Berbatov races into the box before shooting but Cech stays up well to deny the Bulgarian with another super stop.

Great save by Cech! More good pressure from the champions. Some super play by John O'Shea feeds Berbatov down the right. He crosses for Rooney but it's just too high for the striker. However, he manages to head it down to Park who gets a shot away but Cech saves at close range.

More trouble for Chelsea down the left. Evra teases Ivanovic who is forced to bring the full back down for a free kick. Nani wastes the set piece but seconds later Ivanovic brings down Evra again and picks up a yellow card! Again the free kick comes to nothing.

United enjoy a nice spell of possession and work the ball out well to Evra on the left. The full back tries a cross but balloons it straight into the arms of Petr Cech.

Chelsea hit the bar! A Lampard corner into the box causes panic. Ivanovic gets a touch on it but Evra manages to nod the ball onto the woodwork before eventually the ball is cleared! So close for the Blues!
